Neuralink was last valued at $3.5 billion in late 2023, according to Pitchbook, but since then it has implanted three chips into the brains of patients who are paralyzed or unable to speak. The last non-speaking man from Arizona with ALS posted a video on X Mask last month in which he speaks using the chip.
In April, Bloomberg reported that Neuralink was planning to raise $500 million at a valuation of $8.5 billion. Jared Birchall, CEO of Neuralink and head of Musk's investment office, did not respond to a request for comment.
Musk’s companies have skyrocketed in value over the past four years, though Neuralink remains one of the smallest parts of his empire. SpaceX raised investment at a $180 billion valuation in August but was valued at $350 billion on the secondary market by December 2024, according to PitchBook data. His new venture, xAI, was worth $80 billion when it merged with X, creating a combined company valued at $113 billion.
