Shield AI's new valuation nearly doubles the company's previous valuation of $2.7 billion after it raised $200 million in a Series F round in October 2023.
San Diego-based Shield AI builds a range of intelligent autonomous systems for the defense sector. For example, its software – Hivemind Mind – allows aircraft to operate autonomously in high-threat environments.
The new funding received, according to the company, “major participation from strategic investors” Hanwha Aerospace and L3 Harris Technologies, as well as participation from existing investors including Andreessen Horowitz, US Innovative Technology Fund and Washington Harbor Partners.
According to Crunchbase, Shield AI, founded in 2015, has raised $1.3 billion.
