The American President, Donald Trump, stated that he addressed Russia’s aggression against Ukraine during a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. He pointed out that it is a matter they would like to see settled. Trump made this statement upon completion of his visit.
During a press conference aboard Air Force One, journalists inquired whether he had spoken about Ukraine with Xi and if any advancement had been made. He verified that they had.
“Well, it’s a subject we’re eager to see resolved. Things were progressing well until yesterday evening, but last night they suffered a significant blow (referring to a large-scale Russian strike on Ukraine — ed.). So it will come to pass, one way or another. However, it’s regrettable. 25,000 individuals perished last month,” Trump commented.
The Russian offensive from May 13 to 14 inclusive represented the most extensive of the entire conflict. Over the course of two days, Russia deployed 1,692 UAVs and 41 missiles against Ukraine. In Kyiv, 24 people, including three children, lost their lives in an attack on a residential building located in the Darnytsia district.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy conveyed that, based on initial data, the house was struck by a Kh-101 missile, which had been manufactured in the second quarter of the current year. May 15 was designated as a Day of Remembrance in Kyiv.
