The American President, Donald Trump, is allegedly secretly contemplating dismissing Attorney General Pam Bondi because of the controversy surrounding the convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein. He allegedly desires to substitute her with the head of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Lee Zeldin, according to CNN citing informed sources.
Bondi is scheduled to testify before Congress this month regarding the Epstein matter, a situation that has triggered strong reactions from Trump’s backers, who have pledged to conduct their own investigation. Furthermore, the US president is reportedly displeased that Bondi hasn’t adequately investigated his political rivals.
It remains uncertain whether Trump has reached a conclusive decision. Bondi accompanied him on Wednesday, riding in his vehicle convoy to the Supreme Court hearing. Additionally, she was present for his remarks concerning the situation with Iran.
“Attorney General Pam Bondi is an exceptional individual and is performing admirably,” Trump stated.
Trump initially entertained the notion of replacing Bondi in January, but the idea subsequently diminished as media coverage of the Epstein affair lessened. This week, CNN suggests, the rumors have reemerged.
As a reminder, in early March, the US Justice Department released documentation pertaining to sexual assault claims leveled against Trump. These documents were absent from previously disclosed files in the Epstein proceedings.
