A helicopter crashed into the Hudson River near Manhattan on Thursday, authorities said.
There were no reports of casualties or deaths.
The fire service said it received reports of a helicopter in the water at 3:17 p.m.
Videos posted on social media showed the plane almost completely submerged in water and flipped over.

The fire service said rescue units were at the scene, and video from the scene showed several rescue boats circling the plane.
The rescue ship was located near the Manhattan waterfront, near the end of a long maintenance pier for one of the Holland Tunnel’s ventilation towers.
Fire trucks and other emergency services were on the streets near the scene with their lights flashing.

The skies above Manhattan are constantly filled with airplanes and helicopters – both private pleasure flights and commercial and tourist flights.
Manhattan has several helipads that transport business executives and others to destinations throughout the metropolitan area.
There have been numerous air crashes over the years, including a 2009 collision between a plane and a tourist helicopter over the Hudson River that killed nine people, and the 2018 crash of a charter helicopter offering “open door” flights that plunged into the East River, killing five people.
