Police have carried out a night raid on a Buenos Aires clinic to seize Diego Maradona's complete medical records, following a court order issued in the trial of seven medical workers accused of negligence in the former soccer star's death.
Pablo Dimitroff, the head doctor at the Los Olivos clinic, testified that Maradona underwent pre-operative examinations and that the operation itself was performed by a neurosurgeon at the center without complications.
These studies were not included in Maradona's medical file, and the trial judges ordered a search to seize all of Maradona's files dating from November 3 to 11, 2020.
Maradona underwent surgery to remove a hematoma that had formed between his skull and brain and was in intensive care in Olivos from November 4 to 11. He was then sent to a private home to recover, where he died on November 25, 2020, at the age of 60.
The raid began around midnight and lasted four hours.
Police said they had seized about 275 pages of relevant archives and 547 emails exchanged between the medical workers under investigation.
The trial will continue on Thursday.
