Police say a boy rescued from the River Thames is in a stable condition as the search continues for a missing girl.
A search was launched after two children got into trouble in the water near Royal Terrace Pier in Gravesend on Friday afternoon.
A police spokesman said Kent Police were called at 1.46pm on Friday by the Port of London Authority following “concerns for the welfare of two children who had fallen into the river” on Royal Pier Road, Gravesend.
Emergency services were called and a search began, which resulted in the boy being pulled out of the river.
He was taken to a local hospital where his condition was “not described as life-threatening,” police said.
On Saturday, Kent Police's marine unit and coastguard resumed searching the water and riverbank.
