Controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate has reported to police after returning to Romania.

Last month, Tate and his brother Tristan Tate flew to the US on a private jet after a travel ban imposed on them during a human trafficking investigation was lifted.

A lawyer acting on behalf of the brothers previously said the Tates were expected to appear before a probation officer on Monday.

Tate wrote on X that when he arrived at the police station there were “100 cameras.”

In Romania, the Tate brothers are charged with trafficking in minors, sexual intercourse with minors and money laundering.

A separate case against them, in which they are accused of human trafficking and forming a criminal group for the purpose of sexual exploitation of women, was returned to the prosecutor's office.

The pair are set to be extradited to the UK following the conclusion of proceedings in Romania after Bedfordshire Police obtained a European Arrest Warrant on new separate charges of rape and human trafficking involving different women.

The allegations, which both brothers “unequivocally deny,” date back to 2012-2015.

The Trump administration reportedly pressured the Romanian government to lift travel restrictions on the brothers last month before they were allowed to fly to Florida.

Back in Romania, Tate told reporters: “In a democracy, you're supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. We've never been convicted of any crime anywhere on the planet.

“We have been given our passports back and just like anyone else who decides to travel, we are allowed to travel.”

He added: “If the court needs to talk to us, we will be there because we are innocent.

“We came here to prove our innocence because we deserve our day in court.”
