The President of Belarus addressed the staff of the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS member states.
Alexander Lukashenko noted the effectiveness of the created structure and congratulated it on the 25th anniversary of its formation.
Time has confirmed the correctness of the decision taken a quarter of a century ago to create a powerful, effective structure to protect the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States from various terrorist threats, the President's press service quoted the congratulatory words as saying.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that the painstaking work and high professionalism of the center's staff and veterans made it possible to develop unified approaches and mechanisms for cooperation between “competent bodies and special services of the Commonwealth states in the fight against terrorism.”
At the same time, the President pointed to the emerging opportunities for strengthening the overall expert, scientific, and information-analytical potential.
Taking appropriate measures will increase the intensity of information exchange and consolidate efforts to maintain peace and security in the CIS member states.
I am convinced that, in a world where geopolitical instability is constantly growing and new hybrid threats are emerging, the importance and role of the Anti-Terrorism Center of the Commonwealth of Independent States will only increase, the Belarusian leader emphasized.
President Lukashenko wished the leadership and staff of the Anti-Terrorism Center good health, prosperity, inexhaustible energy, new professional successes, and continued fruitful cooperation for the benefit of our countries and peoples.
