Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko spoke about the restoration of the Soviet Union.
According to the Belarusian leader, this is impossible to do today, reports a correspondent for the online publication Belnovosti.
At the same time, he emphasized the need to preserve the economic space of the CIS.

The president made this statement while speaking at the summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
As a reminder, a narrow-format meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State is taking place in Dushanbe today, October 10.
“I'm not advocating for anyone to restore the Soviet Union—that's impossible today—but economic space must be preserved,” reads a message published on the “Pool of the First” Telegram channel.
Earlier, Alexander Lukashenko stated that the Commonwealth countries must not be allowed to be drawn into adventures that are extremely dangerous for humanity.
As he put it, the most important task for all of them should remain ensuring security and peace throughout the CIS.
