In the first month after the launch of the DOT-Chain Defence system, 5.6 thousand drones with a total value of 216 million hryvnias were sent to the front line.

According to Delo.ua, this was announced by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

According to him, 12 brigades are currently involved in the project in the Donetsk, Zaporizhia, Kherson, and Kharkiv directions.

DOT-Chain Defence became a platform on which combat brigades were able to directly order various types of UAVs.

“The military notes the convenience and speed of the marketplace, where they are able to choose drones on their own and receive them not in months, but in a matter of days,” the Minister of Defense noted.

Advantages of DOT-Chain Defense

  • Speed: the supply cycle has been reduced by more than 5 times. The average delivery time is up to 2 weeks, the record is 5 days from the moment of order to receipt at the front line;
  • Choice: The military chooses the models they need. There are currently 151 types of drones available;
  • Manufacturers: 25 companies are represented on the marketplace;
  • Expansion of the nomenclature: in addition to FPV drones, heavy bomber drones have been added. The fastest delivery of such drones was 12 days;
  • Volume growth: in total, the soldiers have already ordered more than 11 thousand drones worth 397 million UAH.

Shmyhal added that the government is working on scaling and developing the marketplace, and also noted that units have the opportunity to receive equipment from manufacturers for points within the “Drone Army Bonus” program through DOT-Chain Defence.

As a reminder, the AOZ and DOT presented the military with the functionality of the DOT-Chain Defence IT system – a digital platform that will allow the military to independently choose weapons purchased with AOZ funds.
