US penalizes Chinese firms over Iranian oil purchases — CNN

The government of US President Donald Trump has levied penalties against a dozen entities and persons that Washington claims are aiding the trade and shipment of Iranian petroleum to China.

This is according to CNN reports.

The resolution was revealed several days ahead of Donald Trump’s anticipated conference with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant stated that the US will persist in its endeavors to “disconnect the Iranian government from monetary systems” which Washington alleges are employed to bolster terrorist endeavors and destabilize the world’s financial situation.

The United States considers that the matter of Chinese backing of Iran might evolve into a significant subject during impending discussions between Trump and Xi Jinping.

It was earlier disclosed that US President Donald Trump intends to deliberate the transaction of US-made armaments to Taiwan during a conference with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
