The joint American and Israeli military action aimed at Iran will, without a doubt, have repercussions for Ukraine. Notably, it might trigger a reduction in the quantity of American weaponry sent to the Ukrainian armed forces.
This viewpoint was offered by former Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin in a conversation with LIGA.net.
In his estimation, the US will be compelled to replenish its own weapon inventories expended during the strikes against Iran, leading to a predictable decline in their outward shipments.
Concurrently, Klimkin stated that there will be no drastic alterations regarding the provision of arms from the United States to Ukraine, given that the US President Donald Trump is not currently providing Tomahawk missiles to the Ukrainian forces.
“What they are presently deploying against Iran largely differs from the armaments we are receiving,” he pointed out.
A potentially more adverse outcome for Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian diplomat, is the redirection of focus towards the Middle East.
Klimkin posits that the Americans will now give particular attention to Iran, and the Russians will exploit this situation, seeking to “escalate the tension.”
“We are faced with a highly complex challenging framework here,” he concluded.
Earlier, the Financial Times suggested that a conflict between the US and Israel versus Iran could impinge on the dispatch of air defense systems to Ukraine.
