A military F-16 plane went down in Turkey, having departed from the 9th Main Jet Installation in Balikesir.

An accident involving a military F-16 combat aircraft transpired in Turkey. The aircraft impacted the ground mid-flight, resulting in the pilot’s death.
As per validated details, the unmanned aircraft’s connection and surveillance link was severed at about 00:56.
The F-16 combat jet lifted off from the 9th Main Jet Installation situated in the urban area of Balikesir, subsequently losing contact.
An immediate search and salvage effort was initiated. First responders verified the aircraft’s destruction and discovered its remnants. Regrettably, the pilot could not be rescued – he perished.
The origins of the unfortunate event are presently undetermined. A dedicated board will ascertain them following a methodical and specialized inspection of the event’s specifics.
The Turkish Military offered their sympathies to the bereaved family of the fallen pilot, his fellow servicemen, and the entire Turkish population.
It is worth mentioning that previously in Turkey, a significant aviation disaster occurred, decimating the Libyan armed forces. A chartered aircraft carrying the Chief of Staff of Libya and additional top-tier dignitaries crashed quickly after its ascent from Ankara aerodrome.
