Another phase of conversations involving the United States and Iran could happen in the following 48 hours, with Pakistan’s capital being contemplated as a potential location.
US President Donald Trump articulated this in an interview given to the New York Post.
As per his statement, the discussion process is still underway, albeit progressing at a slower pace.
“Talks are advancing, but rather deliberately,” he remarked, adding that the parties are weighing various sites for the subsequent round.
Trump subsequently elucidated that Islamabad could be a more probable possibility.
“Something might transpire in the next couple of days, and we are disposed to proceed there,” he conveyed, speaking favorably of the Pakistani military high command’s part.
Concurrently, Trump verified that he would abstain from personal participation in the succeeding round of parleys.
Furthermore, the president voiced discontent with accounts of a conceivable agreement that would provisionally curtail Iran’s uranium enhancement scheme for a duration of 20 years.
“I’ve consistently maintained that they cannot possess atomic weaponry. I dislike this two-decade duration,” he emphasized.
The United States is pressing for more stringent stipulations, encompassing Iran’s complete relinquishment of uranium enrichment aptitude.
Simultaneously, Tehran is underscoring that a total reversal of its nuclear program is unacceptable, stressing that any accord should resemble a mutual resolution, not a yielding.
As a reminder, earlier US President Donald Trump communicated that he has no intentions of recommencing military actions against Iran and deems the conflict to have concluded.
However, Washington had previously affirmed that dealings with Iran were persisting despite the upsurge.
