The President of the United States, Donald Trump, declared on Wednesday, January 14th, that “trustworthy sources” informed him of the cessation of killings during demonstrations in Iran, and the absence of intended capital punishments. The declaration followed prior reports regarding thousands of fatalities in opposition rallies.
This is according to a CBS News dispatch.
“We have been informed that the homicides in Iran are ceasing. They have ceased. Furthermore, there are no planned executions. I received this information from a credible informant. We shall ascertain the facts,” stated the American head of state, without elaborating.
Trump further noted that, as of today, “numerous executions were slated to transpire, yet none will occur.”
In response to a journalist’s inquiry regarding whether this signified the exclusion of military avenues, the US president responded that the White House will “observe the process.”
Previously, a source within Iran conveyed to CBS News that activists and medical personnel placed the estimated casualty figure at a minimum of 12,000 individuals, potentially reaching 20,000.
Trump pledged “resolute action” should Iran persist in executing demonstrators and encouraged Iranians to take control of governmental locations, asserting, “Assistance is imminent.”
It is worth recalling that Reuters, drawing from European and Israeli sources, disclosed that US President Donald Trump has already determined upon military involvement amidst the most severe protests in the annals of the Islamic Republic.
