In the Turkish highlands, roughly 29 kilometers to the south of Mount Ararat, investigation has been renewed concerning the Durupinar Formation, a geologic structure some academics link to the Old Testament narrative of Noah’s Ark.

This information was published by the Daily Mail.

The Noah’s Ark Scans endeavor has publicized the findings of novel assessments of the locale. According to freelance investigator Andrew Jones, the undertaking employed ground-penetrating radar, enabling exploration of subsurface arrangements. He asserts the instrument detected a configuration of underground “passageways” merging into a focal hollow, which he characterized as an atrium.

Jones connects these outcomes to the scriptural depiction of the ark, which alludes to three interior decks. He believes the discovered constructions might correspond to such a tiered spatial layout. Simultaneously, he underscores that GPR only affords a “glimpse” beneath the ground and documents potential hollows.

The exploration team also utilized infrared thermography, a thermal imaging method capable of discerning concealed architectures. They indicate the results could also suggest the existence of an entity resembling a ship’s frame, situated beneath a layer of earth.

The Durupinar Formation gained prominence in the middle of the 20th century. As per local accounts, during May 1948, extensive precipitation and seismic activity eroded part of the region, unveiling the formation. Subsequently, a Kurdish herdsman discovered it.

The Holy Bible declares that Noah’s ark came to rest upon “the mountains of Ararat” after the deluge, which endured for 150 days. It additionally furnishes the estimated measurements of the vessel: 300 cubits in length, 50 cubits in breadth, and 30 cubits in height. Certain analysts surmise the Durupinar formation might correlate with these proportions in its outlines.

As part of the study, the Noah’s Ark Scans group procured 88 soil specimens from both inside and outside the formation in 2024. According to venture collaborators, the scrutiny revealed augmented concentrations of potassium, potentially related to the decay of organic matter, encompassing timber.

The scientists also directed their attention to the area’s weather patterns. They commented that due to frigid conditions, the entity can remain frozen for about half the annum, which, they surmise, could have assisted in the safeguarding of select components in a fossilized state.

Some of the discoveries concern the edifice beneath the surface. Jones stated that prior investigations have identified angled formations reaching depths of 20 feet that could resemble subterranean chambers. Another team member, William Crabtree, mentioned there might be a passage extending from the summit of the formation towards the center.

The investigators further observe that the flora within the formation varies from the surrounding greenery, specifically in pigmentation. They propose this could denote a differing soil composition within this zone.

Nevertheless, the genesis of the formation remains contentious. The majority of academics deem it a spontaneous geological occurrence shaped by natural phenomena. However, the Noah’s Ark Scans association insists that additional inquiry is warranted.

Jones conveyed that the ensuing phase could involve excavation and the insertion of cameras to scrutinize the internal structures. The researchers are contemplating acquiring samples from deeper strata and examining the voids in detail.

It is worth noting that earlier in the ancient Bible, a cryptic prediction concerning the “conclusion of the epoch of humanity” was located.
