The Kremlin denies proposing that the US refrain from sharing informational intelligence with Iran during conflicts in the Middle East if Washington halted similar support for Ukraine.

According to the Turkish press agency Anadolu, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov labeled reports circulating in Western media about this as “untrue.”

“We certainly took note of this report. It falls into the realm of inaccurate, or to be more precise, fabricated reports,” Peskov mentioned during a conference in Moscow.

Putin's press secretary further added that Russia “advocates for a political and diplomatic solution to the situation in the Middle East.”

“That is the sole path that can genuinely aid in de-escalating the drastically critical situation currently unfolding in the region,” he asserted.

Peskov also conveyed the Kremlin's warnings regarding potential US strikes on Iranian power infrastructure, notably the Bushehr atomic power station, constructed by the Russian Federation.

“We regard attacks on nuclear installations as incredibly risky and potentially leading to irreparable consequences,” the representative for the president of the aggressor nation, which has repeatedly targeted infrastructure crucial to the functionality of Ukrainian nuclear power facilities, remarked with cynicism.

As a reminder, Politico previously conveyed, based on its own sources, that the Kremlin was endeavoring to reach a consensus with the Donald Trump government to cease backing Iran in exchange for Washington's refusal to aid Ukraine with informational intelligence.

Allegedly, the White House dismissed the proposal. However, the sheer occurrence of such discussions has evoked worry among European diplomats, who interpret it as a Kremlin endeavor to sow discord between the United States and Europe.

How Russia backs Iran

It has been previously documented that Russia is broadening its military backing for Iran amidst the US and Israeli activities in the Middle East. Moscow has not only amplified intelligence exchange with Tehran but is also providing drone technology and experience in tactical warfare.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Moscow is dispatching components for UAVs to Tehran, encompassing communication, navigation, and piloting apparatus. Additionally, Russian specialists are imparting expertise in the application of drones acquired during the warfare against Ukraine.

Russia has essentially renounced any semblance of impartiality and is articulating its advocacy for Iran in its confrontation with the US and Israel.
