As per the report, the discussion focused on a potential accord to resolve the dispute between the United States and Iran. It also encompassed drafting a preliminary agreement to establish a framework for future discussions. Concurrently, Washington and Tehran are attempting to finalize a concise document to cease hostilities, though a conclusive response from Iran is still pending.
The report highlighted that initially, Pakistan served as the official facilitator in the matter. However, Qatar is now intensely participating “behind the curtain” and functions as a significant go-between, largely due to its robust connections with Tehran. Egypt, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia are similarly engaged in the deliberations.
Marco Rubio alluded to the conference, mentioning that he conferred with the Qatari Prime Minister about the nation’s defense capabilities and the alliance between the US and Qatar to bolster security and stability in the Middle East.
