The Iranian Embassy, which openly backs Russia’s acts of aggression in Ukraine, offered a cynical holiday greeting to Ukrainian people for Christmas and the coming year.
A celebratory video was posted on the diplomatic mission’s Facebook profile.
The representative of the country that furnishes the aggressor nation with “Shaheds” that slay Ukrainians stated that he “sends his sincere greetings” to the people of Ukraine on the occasion of Christmas and the onset of the New Year.
The greeting displayed in the video conveys Iran’s aspiration that 2026 “will herald the arrival of lasting tranquility and affluence for Ukraine.”
The video also showcases scenes from Christian churches situated in Iran, where Christmas is observed.
The holiday greeting incorporates Christmas baubles designed in the tints of the Iranian and Ukrainian national banners.
“We trust that in the New Year, with the advent of a firm peace, we shall observe serenity, prosperity, and a luminous future for Ukraine,” the closing caption of the video expresses.
Ukrainians are rendered speechless in their responses to the shared “greetings.”
It is worth mentioning that lately, in several Iranian cities, widespread distribution of flyers promoting recruitment into the Russian military was observed.
