Russia's battle against Ukraine is nearing its fifth year and already presents a danger to the security of maritime traffic and commerce in the Black Sea, and additional intensification could become unmanageable.

This was declared by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Clash Report indicates.

“The confrontation between Russia and Ukraine is almost entering its fifth year. Also, hundreds of thousands of individuals have perished there, cities have been devastated, millions of people have been compelled to abandon their residences,” the Turkish president remarked.

According to him, in recent times, hostilities have attained a degree that poses a danger to commerce and the security of seafaring in the Black Sea.

“In recent months, it has been noted that the conflict has reached a magnitude that endangers commerce and seafaring safety in the Black Sea. We are establishing the required contacts to avert this,” Erdogan emphasized.

He also underlined that Turkey is pursuing a swift conclusion to the conflict, as further escalation bears the hazard of losing command of the situation.

“Our earnest aspiration is to terminate this conflict, which carries the potential of progressively becoming uncontrollable due to reciprocal assaults, as promptly as possible, by instituting a just and enduring peace,” the Turkish president affirmed.
