US President Donald Trump declared the dispatch of a significant American naval group in the direction of Iran and menaced an even more severe assault if Tehran declines to discuss its nuclear program.
Trump communicated this via the social media platform Truth Social.
He underscored that a “vast naval force,” spearheaded by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, was advancing to the region.
According to him, this naval group is more substantial in scale than the contingent previously dispatched to Venezuela.
“It advances swiftly, with considerable power, zeal, and resolve. This fleet is prepared, willing, and able to execute its assignment with celerity and force if the need arises,” Trump stated.
He highlighted that the United States purportedly still offers room for negotiation and urged Iran to immediately engage in discussions.
“We trust that Iran will consent to a just and reasonable accord – devoid of nuclear arms. Time is diminishing, and this is of utmost importance,” the politician penned.
Concurrently, Trump again employed stringent rhetoric, recalling prior military actions against Iran, which he designated “Operation Midnight Hammer.”
“I've already conveyed to Iran: reach an agreement. They declined, and there was extensive damage. The subsequent assault will be far worse. Prevent this from recurring,” he pronounced.
Concluding his address, Donald Trump stressed that the accountability for subsequent developments rests with the Iranian side.
The US had previously targeted Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
“In June, we eliminated Iran’s nuclear capacity in Operation Midnight Hammer. Individuals had been anticipating this for 22 years. They were a month away from obtaining a nuclear weapon. We were compelled to act,” the US president asserted.
