US President Donald Trump has delivered a stern and unwavering ultimatum to Iran. The White House is requesting prompt action from Tehran, cautioning against disastrous outcomes.

The American leader shared this on the Truth Social platform.

“Iran is running out of time, and it is in their best interest to commence acting rapidly, or they will be left with absolutely nothing. Urgency is paramount,” Trump conveyed in a concise announcement.

The White House chief’s remarks followed reports in Iranian media alleging that the US presented no compromises in its most recent response to the proposition Tehran conveyed to Washington through Pakistan to conclude the conflict.

There have been no formal statements from the Iranian government regarding this issue. Concurrently, the state-affiliated Mehr news organization indicated that the US is attempting “to secure concessions that were not obtained during the war,” noting that this could impede the attainment of agreements via discussions.

War in Iran — latest news

The US is gearing up to restart strikes on Iran. Following his return from China, Trump is anticipated to render a determination on whether to recommence Operation Epic Fury (potentially under a different designation), which could transpire as early as the coming week. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth verified the existence of an escalation strategy, although the possibility of withdrawing over 50,000 troops is also being mulled. The US and Israel are actively readying for assaults on Iran’s military and civilian infrastructure. A high-stakes special forces mission to extract nuclear resources in Isfahan and the prospect of seizing the oil-exporting island of Kharg are also under consideration.

Iran, conversely, intends to employ the Strait of Hormuz as a digital instrument of pressure, levying charges on tech giants (Google, Microsoft, Meta, Amazon) for the passage of Internet traffic through undersea cables linking Europe, Asia, and the Persian Gulf. The announcement regarding the collection of licensing fees was issued by the representative of the Iranian army, Ebrahim Zolfaghari, and media connected to the IRGC are alluding to potential traffic interruptions in the event of refusal. Prospective disruptions pose the greatest threat to the financial and public sectors of the Persian Gulf nations, and may also have repercussions for India and Europe.
