Tankers affiliated with Iran continue their transit through the Strait of Hormuz, notwithstanding the naval blockade implemented by the US.

According to maritime services, on the very first day of the imposed limitations, a subsequent tanker linked to Iranian shipments made its way into the Persian Gulf.
The vessel in question, the Peace Gulf, flies the Panamanian flag and is headed for the port of Hamriya in the United Arab Emirates. According to experts, the tanker typically transports Iranian petroleum and petrochemical components to alternative ports within the region for subsequent exportation to Asia.
Previously, two other tankers subject to US sanctions also navigated through the strait.
Specifically, the “Murlikishan” vessel is scheduled to proceed to Iraq to take on a load of fuel oil, whereas another tanker, the Rich Starry, tied to a Chinese enterprise, is transporting roughly 250,000 barrels of methanol. It carries a Chinese crew.
Following unsuccessful discussions with Tehran, Washington declared a blockade of Iranian maritime ports. Nevertheless, these restrictions do not extend to vessels that do not directly dock at Iranian ports.
China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs voiced opposition to the US actions, deeming the blockade “perilous and irresponsible” and cautioning against the possibility of heightened tensions.
