NATO intends to extend invitations to four Gulf nations for the Alliance convention, scheduled for July 7-8 in Ankara.

This information comes via Bloomberg.

Per the news outlet, the external affairs representatives of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates might take part in the convention.

These nations all belong to the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, which represents a partnership framework linking NATO with Middle Eastern countries outside the Alliance.

The convention is set to occur amid heightened transatlantic strain concerning the conflict in Iran.

Bloomberg points out that US President Donald Trump had previously voiced criticism toward NATO partners for declining assistance in opening the Strait of Hormuz.

Subsequently, the US leader also declared a resolution to remove roughly 5,000 military personnel from Germany.

As the news agency mentions, the NATO convention is designed to maintain a very succinct and streamlined format for the second consecutive year.

This methodology, as per reporters, was implemented considering the demands of US President Donald Trump.

It was previously noted that US President Donald Trump's choice to pull 5,000 US soldiers from Germany did not serve as a means of compelling European allies to back Washington's initiatives targeting Iran.

It was previously brought to light that the United Arab Emirates may potentially become a concealed participant in the conflict directed at Iran.
