One month after India consented to the US request to cease importing crude from Russia in return for a commerce agreement, Washington permitted Delhi to resume purchasing it.

This was communicated by White House representative Caroline Levitt, according to “Social”.

According to her statement, the choice to authorize India to procure Russian crude was collectively made by President Donald Trump, Finance Minister Scott Bessant, and the entire national security staff.

“Our partners in India have demonstrated cooperation and previously ceased acquiring sanctioned Russian crude. We have briefly authorized them to receive this crude to address a provisional supply shortage caused by the Iranians,” the representative declared.

Levitt contends that this crude was already en route at the time of the determination. She affirmed that this short-term action will not constitute a considerable economic advantage for Russia.

Prior reports from Reuters indicated that Indian refineries obtained millions of barrels of Russian crude after the United States provided a one-month exemption from sanctions. India is ranked as the planet’s third-largest crude importer.

As a point of note, President Trump's counselors are urging for the swift identification of a resolution to the conflict with Iran. The primary justifications include the precipitous surge in crude values.
