Reuters disseminates this account.

A minimum of 10 individuals succumbed and upwards of 200 have been admitted to medical facilities in Indore, a city located in central India, subsequent to a diarrheal affliction believed by authorities to be correlated with adulterated drinking water.

Among the deceased was a five-month-old infant who consumed bovine milk diluted with aqueduct water.

Madhav Prasad Hasani, the principal medical executive of Indore, conveyed that the potable water within the Bhagirathpur sector of the city was compromised due to a fissure, and examination of the water verified bacterial presence within the pipe system.

Shravan Verma, the administrative official for the region, stated that governing bodies have dispatched medical contingents to visit patients at their residences and are allocating chlorine pills for water purification.

“We identified an isolated rupture point that potentially tainted the water, and this specific area has been rectified,” Verma articulated.

Prior reports detailed a conflagration at a Goan discotheque that resulted in 23 fatalities.
