Spurious goods are prevalent across various product categories in India; however, mobile phones, smart wristwear, earpieces, slates, and portable computers are the most frequently duplicated. The most imitated items are usually iPhone and Samsung Galaxy product lines. The initiative undertaken by Indian authorities is intended to diminish the quantity of fabricated Samsung handsets circulating in the marketplace.

According to The Indian Express, Delhi Police garnered intelligence pertaining to a commercial establishment within the city limits, wherein a collective of individuals were purportedly fabricating illegitimate Samsung mobile devices.

On the eve of December 14, 2025, following the receipt of confidential information, officers of the law executed a search warrant at the aforementioned location. During the search procedure, four persons were taken into custody for piecing together mobile devices utilizing parts brought in from China.

The authorities seized 512 bogus Samsung Galaxy smartphones, encompassing the Galaxy S Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold, and Galaxy Z Flip models. Each device was projected to retail at a price point of INR 35,000-40,000. Also confiscated were 124 mainboards, 138 power cells, 459 IMEI tags bearing the inscription “Made in Vietnam,” alongside specialized implements employed in the assembly of the contraptions.

The ensuing phase of the probe entails identifying supply channels and consumer points of contact, with the objective of exposing the network implicated in the creation and distribution of forgeries. The recent intervention and forthcoming inspections are anticipated to curtail the availability of fraudulent Samsung smartphones within the Indian commercial arena.
