Sweden is taking the Presidency of the Council of the EU for the next 6 months.
The Swedish Presidency has a few key priorities that they’re focusing on, including security, competitiveness, green and energy transitions, democratic values, and the rule of law.
Although they’ve set an ambitious program for themselves, the discovery of a rare earth metals deposit near the Artic circle in the North of Sweden and their space program will prove to be detrimental in the demonstration of these priorities, which are set on improving Europe’s global standing.
