Europe is no longer the primary focus of Washington's attention, according to Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas. She considers this alteration in the transatlantic partnership to be fundamental, not fleeting, Reuters reports.

She noted that Europe continues to desire robust transatlantic connections, and the U.S. will continue to be a partner. Nevertheless, she stated Europe should adjust to fresh circumstances, and “NATO should evolve into a more European entity to sustain its effectiveness.”

“The prospect of a comprehensive resurgence of coercive politics, spheres of influence, and a world order founded on power is genuinely present,” she expressed during the annual gathering of the European Defence Agency.

Previously, Sylvie Kaufmann, a commentator for the French journal Le Monde, penned that the final catalyst for European officials was the remarks made by U.S. President Donald Trump pertaining to the involvement of NATO troops in the Afghanistan conflict. He asserted they “remained somewhat distanced” from the battlegrounds. Now, as per the commentator, Europe has commenced its response, and Trump has even confronted extreme right-wing figures.
