Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy travelled to Prague to meet with the country’s leaders on Thursday evening, marking yet another meeting between Ukrainian and Czech officials since Russia’s invasion of the war-torn country, Czech media reported.

“Prague is next. I will hold substantive negotiations with President Petr Pavel, Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Presidents of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies Miloš Vystrčil and Markéta Pekárová Adamová, meet with members of the government, parliament and media,” Zelenskyy tweeted while flying in the Czech government’s plane, which picked him up in Bulgaria.

“The focus will be on defence support, European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine and the Vilnius NATO Summit, the situation around the ZNPP, the implementation of the #PeaceFormula, and the rebuilding of Ukraine,” he added.

Fiala has already met Zelenskyy several times and recently held talks with him, for example, on the sidelines of the European Political Community (EPC) summit held in Chisinau at the beginning of June.

Fiala also met with the Ukrainian leader in Kyiv last March, shortly after the Russian invasion began, together with leaders of Poland and Slovenia.

Last October, Fiala arrived in Kyiv with other ministers for a joint meeting of the Czech and Ukrainian governments, which was also attended by Zelenskyy.

President Petr Pavel, together with his Slovak counterpart Zuzana Čaputová, met with Zelenskyy in Kyiv in April.

Zelenskyy will travel to Turkey to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday.
