German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius stated that several nations have responded to Berlin’s appeal to supply PAC-3 missiles (designed to intercept ballistic missiles, including “Daggers” and “Iskanders”) to Ukraine for Patriot air defense platforms. As per his statement, ultimate endorsements are anticipated, reports Ukrinform.

“Last week in Brussels, I suggested accumulating a specific quantity of PAC-3 missiles. Germany, although we have already contributed substantially, is allocating an additional five. We are presently in the midst of this undertaking, with some nations having already indicated their willingness. We await the final authorizations. However, I am highly optimistic and will expedite the command for our missiles to promptly depart,” he communicated at a gathering with heads of European defence organizations in Krakow.

According to him, the provision is also contingent upon approvals from the US; however, “we will accelerate this process as well.” Pistorius emphasized that aerial protection is a paramount necessity for Ukraine due to the aerial aggression by Russia.

“This is not merely a war, not solely a military encounter for territorial gain, an endeavor to seize this territory. This is terror. This is terror directed at the Ukrainian civilian populace,” the German minister asserts.

Previously, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared that the United States declined to issue licenses for the manufacturing of missiles for Patriot air defense apparatus in Europe, despite earlier conversations and proposals originating from Ukraine.
