As the European Parliament elections draw near, European political parties are choosing their spitzenkandidaten, their lead candidate for the European Commission president.
On 20 March, at the ALDE Party Extraordinary Congress Brussels 2024, ALDE announced their chosen spitzenkandidat, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, who will be the new face of their party.
The Congress was also an opportunity to discuss ALDE’s European election Manifesto and vote on amendments and the text as a whole.
