Serbia to use natural gas reserves

Serbia to use natural gas reserves | INFBusiness.com

Serbia has started using its natural gas reserves because the daily supplies no longer cover its needs, President Vučić said.

As of Wednesday, he said, reserves dropped from 760 million cubic meters to 650 million, according to N1.

Serbian officials said in early October the country has enough gas reserves to go through two months of a ‘worst case scenario’ but is looking to diversify its supply and move away from dependence on Russia.

As part of those efforts, it is currently building an interconnector with Bulgaria and wants to do the same with North Macedonia, Albania, Croatia, and Romania. Belgrade is also building an oil pipeline connection with Hungary.
