The President of Romania, Nicos Dan, during his visit to Poland, talked about the current global developments and actions implemented to safeguard European safety amidst Russia’s conflict in Ukraine, as well as increased tensions in the Middle East.

This information was shared by TVP World on March 6.

One of the inquiries posed to the Romanian President related to the relationship between Ukraine and Hungary.

“I wish not to meddle in Hungary’s domestic concerns,” the Romanian President, Nikos Dan, declared in an exclusive dialogue with TVP World, “however, it is inadmissible for Hungary to attempt to halt EU assistance to Ukraine.”

Ukraine’s Polish counterparts entirely concur with the Romanian leader’s perspective.

The discourse with Polish officials (which involved numerous high-level discussions) also touched upon peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, along with potential avenues for concluding the war. President Dan asserts that to bolster the region’s security, Poland and Romania should collaborate and sustain their backing of Ukraine.

It is worth recalling that after being elected president in 2025, Nikusor Dan emphasized that Ukraine’s support for Bucharest is a matter of national security.

“Romania will persist in supporting Ukraine because it pertains to our own security. It is one thing to have Ukraine on the eastern frontier, with whom we have maintained an accord since 1997, and entirely another when it involves Russia or a nation that is evolving into a second Belarus,” Dan remarked.
