Portuguese ministers travel to Ukraine to discuss reconstruction, education | INFBusiness.com

Foreign Affairs Minister João Gomes Cravinho and Education Minister João Costa arrived in Kyiv on Monday morning for a two-day visit and will be received by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and their counterparts to discuss the war, reconstruction, and education.

Ministers Gomes Cravinho and Costa will visit Kyiv and Jitomir, according to a statement from the Portuguese Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Education is among the top priorities on the agenda and will be discussed at the III Jitomir Reconstruction Forum.

On Tuesday morning, the Memorandum of Understanding between Portugal and Ukraine will be signed to rebuild schools and equipment.

According to the press release, the project to build Liceu 25 will also be presented, which will be the responsibility of Construção Pública, E.P.E., represented at this International Conference by its director, Luís Andrade.

On Tuesday, Costa will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, Oksen Lisovyi.

The foreign affairs minister will meet with his counterpart, Dmytro Kuleba, to “take stock of the latest developments on the ground and the latest progress on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union, as well as relations between the two sides”.

On the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will receive Gomes Cravinho and Costa to discuss issues such as the Peace Formula, the reconstruction of Jitomir High School No. 25, and the integration of Ukrainian refugee children into Portuguese schools.

This is Cravinho’s fourth visit to Kyiv since the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces.

The press release states that the president of the Portuguese Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (AICEP), Filipe Santos Costa, who is also taking part as a speaker at the conference, will present the national offer of construction and public works companies to more than half a hundred Ukrainian business people at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as to the deputy ministers of Economy and Energy, reinforcing Portugal’s efforts to support the reconstruction of Ukraine.
