One year before the EU elections, Europe Elects’s projection shows that the informal coalition of centre-right EPP, centre-left S&D, and liberal Renew Europe will continue to hold a majority in the EU parliament.

However, this majority is set to shrink: The centre-right is currently projected to win 161 out of 705 seats, down from 177. The S&D Group is polling at 144 seats, which would align with the 143 seats the group currently holds. Renew Europe is projected to decline from 101 to 90 seats.

On the political right, the national-conservative ECR Group is set to increase its seat share from 66 to 82 seats; the right-wing ID Group is set to rise from 62 to 66 seats.

The Greens/EFA Group is polling at 48 seats, down from 72.

However, the ecologists and regionalist parties of that group typically outperform polls in European elections. The opposite is generally true for the Left Group, which is currently projected to win 53 seats, 16 more than what the group currently holds.

The Non-Inscrits are polling at 50 seats, three more than what they currently hold.
