The EU has earmarked €70 million for Bosnia-Herzegovina from its energy support package, most of which will be disbursed over the next two months to support vulnerable families and help companies improve energy efficiency, the EU envoy in the country said on Wednesday.

“Of the €70 million available to Bosnia and Herzegovina through the Energy Support Package, 50 million will be available at the end of this month and at the beginning of next month to help the most vulnerable families facing high prices,” Johann Sattler, the head of the EU delegation, said in the southern city of Mostar, according to the FENA news agency.

“The remaining twenty million will be spent on micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises and households to improve energy efficiency,” Sattler explained.

He specified that this could benefit some 400 companies, but also around 4,000 buildings that should be renovated.
