Schneider Electric said it plans to invest more than $700 million in its U.S. operations over the next two years amid tariff threats that could affect the French electrical equipment maker.

The company said the investments, which will be made through 2027, will focus on strengthening U.S. energy infrastructure to support the growth of AI, boost domestic manufacturing, and strengthen energy security.

Schneider will modernize, expand and open multiple facilities across the U.S., including in Tennessee, Massachusetts, Texas, Missouri, Ohio, North and South Carolina, as part of the planned investment, and is expected to create more than 1,000 new jobs.

Combined with the $440 million already announced since 2020 to strengthen its US supply chain, the company's US investments are expected to exceed $1 billion this decade.

“We are at a turning point for the U.S. technology and industrial sectors, driven by the incredible growth of AI and unprecedented demand for energy,” said Aamir Paul, president of Schneider Electric’s North American operations.
