DHL did not disclose the purchase price for the deal, which sees the German logistics giant buy 100% of the specialist courier. A source familiar with the matter told Reuters that DHL would pay a three-figure sum of one million euros.
The companies also agreed on a strategic partnership to strengthen their supply chain offerings for the global life sciences and healthcare sector, DHL said in a statement.
Cryopdp supplies products to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and also offers storage and packaging services.
DHL hopes the deal will strengthen its life sciences and healthcare segments, which have revenue of more than €5 billion in 2024.
The company said the deal and the planned partnership are subject to regulatory approval.
