Digital Edge, an Asian digital infrastructure firm backed by Stonepeak Partners, a company managing alternative assets, intends to commit $4.5 billion towards the construction of a substantial data center complex within Indonesia.
CGK Campus, a hyper-scale establishment equipped for AI technologies, will furnish 500 megawatts of IT capability upon full completion, potentially growing to 1 gigawatt, the Singaporean enterprise indicated in a press release on Wednesday. The facility will be situated in Bekasi, located on the eastern periphery of Jakarta, approximately 40 kilometers away from Digital Edge's primary locations.
The campus will be developed across various stages, with the initial phase featuring three structures, according to the company. The inauguration of the first building within this phase is anticipated for the fourth quarter of the current year, while the second and third are expected to open in the first semester of the subsequent year.

Indonet, Digital Edge’s Indonesian telecommunications affiliate, will support the campus by providing fiber and network resources.
