“We support Ukraine's accession, but the Balkans come first,” Tajani said. “We have commitments to them, and they are a priority for us. On March 3, we will hold a meeting of the Friends of the Balkans in Rome. On April 1, we will be in Belgrade with German Minister Wadeful to express Serbia's concerns.”

He added that Italy “will help Ukraine, which needs to move forward.”

Earlier, the European Commission stated that Ukraine's accession to the EU in 2027 is the desire not only of the Ukrainian president, but also of many member states. However, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that accession in 2027 is impossible. And the Serbian leader made public secret information about Ukraine's possible membership in the European Union, about which Europe is silent.
