“We will stabilize the world”: Xi and Putin declare a new “just world order”

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in China on a two-day visit on May 19. According to his aide Ushakov, about 40 cooperation documents are planned to be signed during the Kremlin leader's visit to China.

After the meeting in a narrow format, Putin said that relations between Russia and China have reached an unprecedentedly high level and are an example of a comprehensive partnership, UNIAN reports.

Regarding the situation on the international stage, Putin noted that cooperation between the Russian Federation and China is “one of the main stabilizing factors,” since both countries “aspire to build a more just democratic world order.”

The Kremlin leader assured Beijing that, amid the crisis in the Middle East, China can fully rely on Russia as a reliable supplier of resources.

In turn, Xi Jinping stated that Sino-Russian relations are entering a new stage, characterized by greater achievements and rapid development.

According to Xi Jinping, it is China and Russia that should build a more just system of global governance.

Recall that US President Donald Trump previously visited China with a large business delegation. His visit lasted 3 days. But this visit brought very modest results to Washington.
