This is terror: what was said in Lithuania about the freezing of Ukrainians in the dark

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Burdis is convinced that Putin is lying about the energy truce. And in turn, he continues to terrorize Ukrainians, using winter as a weapon. The minister wrote about this on the social network X.

“Amidst attempted peace talks and Putin’s bluff about an ‘energy ceasefire,’ Russia is increasingly using winter as a weapon — launching a massive nighttime attack on Ukraine and deliberately targeting civilian energy infrastructure, including facilities related to nuclear power plants. Freezing people in the dark as temperatures plummet is pure terror,” he wrote. “These systematic attacks on energy infrastructure, including facilities related to nuclear power, are war crimes under international law and must be punished with real accountability — not just statements of concern — including action at the ICC. Those who order and carry out these attacks must be held criminally accountable.”

Lithuania, Burdis recalled, recently donated generators worth 2.4 million euros to Ukraine, bringing total energy support to over 100 million euros.

“Our NGOs and diplomats are also mobilizing, but much more is needed. The scale of Russia’s attacks requires a corresponding increase in scale from everyone. Ukraine urgently needs financial, technical, air defense support and interceptors. The EU, together with global partners, must accelerate deliveries without delay. Every moment of hesitation fuels Russia’s terror,” Burdis wrote.

The minister believes that words and the illusion of restraint will not stop Russia. Only strength, solidarity and responsibility can force it to stop its aggressive war.

As a reminder, the American delegation during the trilateral talks in the UAE on February 4-5 proposed to the Russian side to repeat the “energy truce” in Ukraine. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to him, Ukraine declared its readiness to stop attacks on Russian energy if Moscow stops attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities.
