Amid the emergence of new infectious diseases and strains of already known viruses, the United States decided to inspect 120 of its federally funded biolaboratories in more than 30 countries. More than 40 of them are located in Ukraine.

This was reported by the New York Post, citing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard . It is alleged that the administration is concerned about the state of pathogens in laboratories and intends to stop potentially dangerous experiments with viruses.
According to Tulsi Gabbard, the administration of former US President Joseph Biden lied about the existence of these laboratories. At the same time, the presence of more than 40 laboratories in Ukraine could be “at risk of compromise” due to the war unleashed by Russia, representatives of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) noted.
The Biden administration denied the existence of “chemical or biological laboratories in Ukraine” owned or operated by the United States, dismissing the claims as Chinese and Russian propaganda in a statement on March 9, 2022, a month after the Kremlin forces invaded.

This clarification came in response to testimony by Assistant Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland given the day before in Congress, where she stated: “Ukraine has biological research facilities, and we are very concerned right now that Russian troops, Russian forces, may try to establish control over them.”
Under Trump, officials from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence said the hasty rebuttals were part of an “information resilience” strategy aimed at “shaping public opinion” to “mitigate and counter malicious outside influence,” while downplaying the U.S. connection to the research.
Previously, all information about American biolaboratories was called Russian propaganda and led to the imposition of sanctions against those who disseminated this information.
