Russia's refusal to support the ceasefire proposed by Ukraine indicates Moscow's unwillingness to pursue a genuine peaceful settlement, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said, ERR reports.

“The idea of the Russian ceasefire was to ensure the parade on May 9. The fact that the festive events are being reduced this year only demonstrates the weakness of the authorities,” the diplomat stressed.
According to him, until the Kremlin demonstrates readiness for peace, the international community should increase support for Ukraine and increase pressure on the aggressor. Tsahkhna emphasized that preparations for this year's parade in Moscow indicate uncertainty within the regime.
“Russia has always sought to portray itself as a powerful military power, and the parade in Moscow was a key element of this image. The fact that for the first time in a decade it is being planned on a reduced scale, without a significant amount of equipment and with unprecedented security measures shows how weak the regime of the Russian dictator Putin is and how much fear he has of Ukraine,” the minister said.

He recalled a historical example: even in 1941, when German troops were near Moscow, the capital still held a full-scale military parade in honor of the anniversary of the October Revolution. In his opinion, the current reduction in celebrations is unprecedented and indicates a crisis of confidence in the Kremlin.
Tsahkna called on the European Union to continue to increase sanctions pressure on Russia, prepare new restrictions and seek to hold it accountable for the war it unleashed.
It was previously reported that European intelligence is recording Putin's panic and fear of a possible coup in Russia.
