
The US military operation against Iran began on the last day of February. During the five weeks of war, 13 American servicemen were killed and more than 360 were wounded.

According to official Pentagon data, as of April 3, 2026, 365 American servicemen were injured and 13 died as a result of the military campaign against Iran.
The most wounded were in the ground forces (247), in the navy – 63, among the marines – 19 people, among the air force personnel – 36.
As a reminder, the US has lost two military aircraft in the Middle East in the past 24 hours. As reported by The New York Times, an A-10 Warthog attack aircraft crashed near the Strait of Hormuz around the same time that an F-15E fighter jet was shot down over Iranian territory.

One F-15 pilot and one A-10 pilot were rescued. The fate of one of the F-15 crew members remains unknown.
During an interview, US President Donald Trump refused to comment on the details of the operation after the loss of the planes and stated that these events would not affect possible negotiations with Iran.
As reported, after the Iranian missile strike on a US base in Saudi Arabia, a valuable E-3 Sentry early warning and control aircraft was also destroyed.
