According to the newspaper, he boasted that the mysterious weapon “rendered enemy equipment inoperable” as American helicopters swooped into Caracas to arrest Maduro without any American casualties.

“A discombobulator. I'm not allowed to talk about it,” Trump said during an exclusive interview in the Oval Office.

According to the US president, the Venezuelan military was unable to launch its missiles.

“They never got their missiles to launch. They had Russian and Chinese missiles, but none of them took off. We went in, they were pushing buttons — and nothing worked,” he said.

Trump mentioned the weapon when asked about reports that the Biden administration had received a pulsed energy weapon suspected of causing “Havana Syndrome” — a sudden severe pressure or ringing in the ears, dizziness, nausea, headaches, and cognitive impairment.

Little is known about the weapon itself, but the reports are corroborated by testimony from the scene in Venezuela. One member of the dictator's security team later said that “suddenly all our radars went off without any explanation.”

“The next thing we saw were drones, lots of drones flying over our positions. We didn't know how to react,” he said, adding that helicopters then appeared.

The man says they felt something like a powerful sound wave.

“At one point they let out something; I don't know how to describe it. It was like a very intense sound wave. Suddenly I felt like my head was exploding from the inside. Everyone started bleeding from their noses. Some people were vomiting blood. We were falling to the ground, unable to move. We couldn't even get up after this sonic weapon – or whatever it was,” he recalls.

As a reminder, on the morning of January 3, the US military launched strikes on the Venezuelan capital, Caracas.
