Prince Harry has quietly returned to important work after a series of controversies that have overshadowed a charity close to his heart. The Duke of Sussex spoke out in support of the “Scale Up African Parks Conservation” event alongside Rob Walton, chairman of the American African Parks Foundation, Jordan Rose Walton, Phoenix Sun's Devin Booker, Haman Maluah and others, Geo.TV reports.

The charity launched its $1 billion “Scale Up Africa's Parks” campaign at the World Economic Forum in Davos earlier this year, and Harry has been actively promoting the initiative.
“This five-year effort aims to ensure and expand effective management of Africa’s most important protected areas — strengthening our existing portfolio, expanding new priority landscapes, and building long-term conservation potential across the continent,” Harry said at an event in Davos. “We are gathered tonight to support Africa’s remarkable network of parks. But it reminded me of something bigger: when exceptional people come together with heart, generosity, and purpose, incredible things happen.”
Harry, like his brother Prince William, has a close connection to Africa and is committed to making a difference in the region.

King Charles' youngest son is a board member of African Parks, a non-profit conservation charity, and has been with it since 2016. Unfortunately, it has also been tainted by shocking allegations.
Reports published in 2024 accused African Parks rangers of beating, drowning, and raping local people to prevent them from accessing their native forests, which are now protected areas. Moreover, in late 2025, Chad abruptly ended its 15-year partnership with African Parks, expelling the NGO from its reserves in the country.
African Parks later issued a detailed statement acknowledging that “some of the incidents involved human rights violations and we deeply regret the pain and suffering caused to the victims.”
