Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's recent appearance at Kris Jenner's 70th birthday party in Beverly Hills has added to their already strained relationship with the royal family. According to royal insiders, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's presence at the event highlighted the growing gap between the celebrity lifestyle and traditional royal norms, The News reports.

The source said that their appearance at the party, which was attended by Oprah Winfrey, Paris Hilton and Snoop Dogg, could have further reduced Harry and Meghan's chances of reconciliation with the royal family.
“After attending such a high-profile Hollywood party, Harry and Meghan are now seen as having strayed too far from traditional royal norms,” the insider said. “There are concerns among senior members of the family that this is at odds with the royal family’s expectations of duty and prudence for the Sussexes. They didn’t just go to a party. The size, pomp and publicity of the event have raised doubts about whether they will be able to fully return to the family circle anytime soon. In fact, it could have poisoned that chance forever.”
As for why King Charles didn't invite Harry and Meghan to the royal Christmas party this year, despite them having tea with the Duke in September, an insider said: “Charles wants Christmas to be about family and tradition. With cancer treatment ongoing, the focus this year is on peace and continuity, and showing the British public that the royal family is about service and humility, despite their obvious wealth and privilege.” Harry and Meghan's very public involvement in parties and high-profile Hollywood events is at odds with this stance by the Windsors.”
